Absolutely! We can provide you with 2 uplinks from our diverse switches for redundancy.
  32. If I point the switch port to the back of the cabinet, my switch airflow flows to the front of the cabinet. Is this a problem?
    • You should get a switch with the proper airflow direction to keep our cold aisle cold. If you are not picky about what switch to use, please contact us. We stock MANY switches that we can recommend and either sell or rent to you, so you don’t need to worry about sourcing another switch.
    • Alternatively, you can install the switch in the correct airflow orientation and plug in the cables from the front of the cabinet.
  33. I have 2 cabinets full of servers in my office. Can you move all of my servers into your data center?
    • Absolutely. If you are within 100 miles of our datacenter (12201 Tukwila Int Blvd, Tukwila, WA 98168), we will even do the physical move for free!
    • To give you peace of mind, we have moved over 200 cabinets (thousands of servers) into our datacenter. Some moves involved completely moving the whole cabinet full of servers, while others involved removing the servers from the cabinet and putting them into padded boxes. This applies typically if we are not reusing the cabinet from the originating space.
  34. Can you move cabinet/servers from one of my datacenters to another, not the Coloinseattle datacenter?
Yes, we can move servers between 2 offices/data centers that do not belong to Coloinseattle. Let us know your needs, and we will be happy to help!
  35. Do you offer remote hands in datacenter outside IGW?
Yes, let us know what or where you need help.
  36. I have hundreds of VMs in my current datacenter and would like to move them to a different one. Can you help?
Absolutely! We once moved thousands of production VMs spread over 15 cabinets (in 1 data center in Kansas City) and consolidated them into 2 cabinets in IGW. Here is the oversimplified version:

    1. We create a tunnel between the 2 networks (Kansas City to Seattle) to make both networks 1 network.
    2. Move all VMs and re-advertise all IPs in Seattle. In this case, we set up the server, system, security, and network infrastructure and moved the VMs during production.
    3. The maximum outage per VM was less than 2 minutes.
    4. The move was seamless and unnoticeable by the user.
  37. I am not in the Seattle area. What can you do to take care of my colo needs?
Our customers worldwide never set foot in our datacenter to rack or troubleshoot their servers. We can do 100% of all the physical aspects of running your colo hardware. We also use 3rd party colo to know what we want or need, and we design or offer such wants or needs to our customers who wish to avoid visiting our DC to take care of their hardware. Things that we can do for you:

    1. Rack your servers.
    2. Install/IP PDU.
    3. Cable all servers.
    4. Label all devices.
    5. Audit your cabinet.
    6. Organize/audit your storage for spare equipment.
    7. You can borrow our spare equipment in an emergency (we stock lots of hardware to cover SLA requirements for our private cloud customers).
    8. Troubleshoot your server: replace the CPU, RAM, power supplies, and raid controller.
    9. Build server.
    10. Box up your hardware for outbound delivery.
    11. We aim to make it easy for you to operate your computer in our datacenter. Please let us know if you need anything else not listed here.
  38. All the above looks great; how do I know I can trust Coloinseattle?
We have been in business since 2001. The company started in one of the co-founders’ bedroom apartments. We outgrew the T1 within the first month, then moved to a commercial office that became a datacenter with 3 x T1s and a T3 order pending. Unfortunately, T3 never arrived, so we moved to the Westin building in 2003, with unlimited bandwidth. We grew at Westin until we had 90 cabinets.
In 2009, we built our own 5,000 sqft datacenter in Tukwila. As of now, we have about 18,000 sqft of datacenter in Tukwila. Both founders are still actively working daily in & on the business. We have grown primarily by caring and servicing our customer’s needs. Our customers can focus on what they do best while we care for their hosting needs! Even after more than 20 years in business, we are just getting started! We want to continue growing and serving more customers, and there is only one way to accomplish that: by providing excellent service. Period!
  39. Why should I do business with Coloinseattle?
    • Because of all of the above!
    • As a privately owned company, we are in a unique position and size—we are big enough to do the job and small enough to care!
    • Our mindset is continuously evolving and growing to be better than the previous week! We will always continue improving and innovating towards that goal.
    • Last but not least, we provide the best colo experience in Greater Seattle (or anywhere else). We back it up with a 30-day money-back guarantee if you are unsatisfied!
